Absolutely perfect - I owned a generic white shucker from Amazon and borrowed a longer blue shucker from the restaurant I work at and this one was the best. I felt like the short pointy blade allowed for better control despite less leverage and the guard helped the shucker from slipping.

A box of oysters is a box to my heart! I took 'em, all out, baked them in high heat for 30 minutes (I have experience at shucking oysters, but it's easier to heat the bivalves open). And then there's the excellent liquor they throw off. A fine appetizer. And the great thing is that I was still hungry after 60+ oysters.
